equine & seniors
A few weeks ago, I did a blog post featuring two sessions of my dear friend, Aly. The sessions were about one year apart and I loved it because I used the same camera, the same lens and yet the images looked totally different. I did a lot of growing in that year and it was so fun to see it in my images. This, however, is even better. This blog is of two sessions but the first one was alllll the way back in 2012! Before I had a real camera, before I had any inkling of having a career in photography, before I had any clue what I was doing. I grabbed my mom's point and shoot camera and just started shooing with my friend, Kirsty, and her horse, Wilbar. The images are comical to look at now (so if you end up laughing throughout this post, don't worry, I laughed putting it together!) but we had a blast during that "session."
Seven years is a long time and, obviously, I've learned a lot. Kirsty has a new horse, Gracie, and we shot at a different barn this time around. The images of Kirsty and Gracie are beautiful, but I love, love, love looking at those old images because, yes, it's so funny to look back on, but also because that was kind of the start of this all- a girl with whatever camera she could find having fun with friends and horses.
