the 2021 saddle squad

*Full individual portrait session: At the date and time of your choosing, we’ll capture some incredible moments with you and your beloved equine partner. The session is roughly 2 hours long and includes 2-3 outfit changes and 2-3 locations around the barn. This includes ALL digital images from your session

*Mini session in Nashville: NEW for 2021, this 30 min. mini session is just for YOU, the rider, and will be at a set location and date (tentatively in Franklin in May) 

*Discounted or FREE barn mini session: If you help organize a day of barn minis for your friends and fellow riders, your session is 50% off (if two other riders book) or completely free (if three or more riders book)

*Modeling opportunities: In the past, I’ve done public modeling calls, but gone are those days! Now, model calls, whether for photo or video, will be done ONLY for my Saddle Squad participants. These are FREE and the model will receive all material from the shoot. (Currently, I have FOUR styled shoots planned for 2021!)

*Referral program: For every person you refer who books an equine or senior session during your yearlong commitment, you’ll get $20 back. That’s right, I’ll hand you $20 just for referring someone! Being part of the Saddle Squad is the only way to take advantage of this referral program AND there’s no limit, meaning you could earn your entire session fee back

The Saddle Squad is a spokesmodel team representing Jay Burnett Photography. The program is designed specifically for equestrians by a fellow equestrian.  What’s in it for you? A lot!

At this point, you might be thinking, “Okay, Jay, that all sounds awesome, but what’s the catch? What do I have to do?” Requirements for being part of the Saddle Squad are super simple: 

 1. Post on social about me 2x a month. This could be as simple as tagging me in a post or reposting an image of mine to your Instagram story. Totally easy. 
 2. Refer people to my business (Remember: you get money back by doing this!)
 3. Pay the session fee
 4. Jay Burnett Photography is the only equine photographer during the year (Note: this does not apply to arena images or show ring shots. Just portrait photography :) ) 


The bond you share with your horse is incredibly special and you deserve to have a photographer who knows not only that, but how to capture it. More than that, you deserve a program to work with that photographer the entire year.

The Saddle Squad is that program.

If you’re looking for “just some nice photos” this program probably isn’t for you. If you’re looking for an experience, one you’ll remember for the rest of your life, applications open Jan. 13, 2021.

When do applications open?
Jan.13, 2021 and they close Jan. 31! I won't be accepting applications again until 2022 so don't wait to apply! 

Do I need to show to participate? 
Nope! If you show, great! If you don't, no worries! If you show or what discipline you show has no impact on your application! 

Does my horse need to be a certain breed to participate? 
Nope! Any and all breeds are welcome! 

How many riders will be selected?
It depends on the applications, but I plan to keep the team small, likely between 3-5 riders. 

When will I be notified if I'm chosen? 
Selected participants will be notified by Feb. 15
