Camera bag in hand, I slipped into the backseat with one of my closest friends, Aly, her mom and soon-to-be sister-in-law in the front seats. Even though it had been a while, it felt old and familiar to be going somewhere with this family again. I didn’t know exactly where we were going, but if Michele liked the location, I knew I would too. We lead the way, the boys following behind in an old truck that belonged to Michele’s dad. Like most things, it wasn’t certain how long the truck would be around and so when Michele asked if they could use it for some family photos, I was more than happy to fulfill that request.
The location Michele had found earlier that week was picture perfect: a quiet, back road with an intruding tree line on each side that showcased both the people and truck incredibly well. The cloudy skies provided natural soft light, the finishing touch.
It’s photos and session like these that remind me what a blessing it is to be given the skills for photography- because I get to capture and preserve moments for people I love and care about. I’m grateful to be able to serve anyone this way, but it means so much to be able to serve a family who I grew up with, who are all so kind and compassionate and so incredibly strong.
